New Deseret Press reports on the build-out of artificial intelligence and its infrastructure in Utah. Readers should not have to trust us. They should be able to check us. These are the rules every article follows.
Every claim is sourced
Each factual statement is numbered to its source: a public record, a recording, a document, or published reporting. Where a record could change or disappear, we keep a copy.
Recordings are cited to the minute
When we quote a meeting, we give the time in the recording, so anyone can listen for themselves. We quote what was said, not what was reported to have been said.
No anonymous sources
We do not publish claims from unnamed people. If a person's account cannot be confirmed by the record, we say so in the article.
Corrections are public
When we get something wrong, we fix it, date the correction, say what changed, and list it on the corrections page and on the article.
No ads, no tracking, no conflicts
The site carries no advertising, sets no cookies, and loads nothing from any other server. We take no money from anyone we cover.
Why there is no byline
New Deseret Press publishes without bylines to protect its writers from retaliation. That is a reason to hold our work to a higher standard, not a lower one, and it is why every claim on this site is linked to its evidence.
